Surfers Round Up 15th October 2013

History Festival
– As part of this Festival, there are two music events which may be of interest. On Monday 28th November 7pm – 9pm visit the ‘Jazz Bar’, which covers 80 years of jazz in Edinburgh, in Chambers Street, Edinburgh. There is also 90 years of Blues in Scotland in the Voodoo Rooms 19a West Register Street, Edinburgh, on 27th November. Tickets available soon.

Trams!
– This may be tempting Providence, but the Surfers were (cautiously) pleased to see that Haymarket is now open and that part of Shandwick Place has been opened as far as Torphichen Street. Buses are still being diverted along the Morrison Link and on to Lothian Road before – eventually – reaching Princes Street. But it is progress at last!

Hopefully this means that the seemingly never-ending tramworks are nearing completion. Fingers crossed that we will have the Edinburgh we love back to normal for the Christmas Season.

Edinburgh’s Pandas
– A less than happy snippet of news was this morning’s comment that Edinburgh’s Panda Tian Tian is no longer pregnant and she may have lost her expected cub some time during the pregnancy. It was also noted that there is another window of opportunity in the future.
