This year, the 11th November fell on Remembrance Sunday and all across the the country people came together to share two minutes silence in memory of all the UK service personal who lost their lives in conflict and war over the years.
One of the Surfers was able to visit the Garden of Remembrance in Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh. The area of the crosses commemorating the dead of all the conflicts since World War 1 was awesome. Many people were naming – or planting – crosses in memory of their own dear departed and tears were shed and prayers quietly said.
The Surfers were also able to watch the televised services from around the country. It is sad to reflect that the numbers seem to grow each year and even at this time of writing another soldier from Glasgow was killed in Afghanistan.
