Following on Motherwell’s very successful ‘Dementia Friendly Town’, Edinburgh City Council has recently announced plans for a similar project.
On 3rd February, starting at 3.30pm and lasting for an hour, Portobello Library will have Sandra Shafii (NHS Lanarkshire’s Dementia Consultant) discussing how Motherwell became Scotland’s first dementia friendly town.
As Scotland’s ageing population grows, dementia and other age-related problems become very important – and no-one escapes the ageing process! Sandra’s talk should be very interesting, so if you are in the vicinity why not drop in. If you would rather, drop in any time between 4.30pm and 5.30pm and find out what is happening and see if you want to become involved.
