Round Up – Tuesday 3rd September 2013

High Winds in the Lothians – One of the Surfers was in Dunbar on Friday 30th August at a barbecue organised by one of her daughters.

The winds were so strong we all felt we would end up in the sea! And kippered as well.

Sadly the high winds forced the Mela festival to close before the finale.

It has been a sad week, learning of the deaths of Seamus Heaney, David Frost and David Jacobs. These three men, in their own way, contributed to poetry, entertainment and politics – especially David Frost’s well documented tv interview with the disgraced American President Richard Nixon.
